Mufindi Highland Lodge

Mufindi Highland Lodge offers cool healthy mountain air, evenings around a log fire, trout fishing, horse riding and stunning scenery.  Set high up on the Rift Valley escarpment, discover a different aspect of the African bush. The Highland Lodge is built on a private 2000 acre estate surrounded by pristine tea estates, dark thick montane forest and rugged bushland interlaced with lakes, rivers and streams. 

Just nine log cabins with ensuite bathrooms are available as either double or family rooms overlooking the lake and golf course. After a day's exertion, a long hot soak is just what is needed before a sun downer on the bar balcony before moving inside to sit around the roaring log fire.

The estate is a working farm, providing organic meat and vegetables for the table. Meals of wholesome farm cooking accompanied by plenty of freshly picked vegetables are eaten in the octagonal dining room. After dinner you can enjoy your coffee before the fire in the downstairs lounge, or go upstairs to the bar. For those still with energy there is a snooker table in a separate room.

Enjoy a wide variety of activies; roam by foot around the villages, lake, tea plantation or forests; take a scenic drive, enjoy a wide variety of mountain bike and horseback trails.  Try fly fishing in Tanzania!  Lakes are well stocked with Rainbow trout just waiting to be fished. The lodge can supply tackle and also instruction for any first timers. Trout breed in the wild in the cold mountain rivers and streams ensuring survival and sustainability.  Canoes are available for use on the lake where a wide variety of bird species can be found.
