Ruaha River Lodge
Stone Lodge on the Banks of the Great Ruaha River
The Ruaha River Lodge is set on the banks of the Great Ruaha River, the lifeline of the Ruaha National Park. The lodge offers guests the privilege of their own riverside 'banda' designed to blend seamlessly into the surroundings. The local stone and thatch bandas have minimal impact on the environment and game viewing from the veranda is a relaxing and enthralling option.
The lodge is a perfect blend of exotic safari architecture, comfort, and rugged beauty. Eat and drink around a campfire on the river bank, or high up in the elevated bar with its spectacular views up and down the river - the choice is yours. Food is prepared from fresh produce from the lodge's own highland farm.
Twenty rooms have either twin beds or a double bed with ensuite bathroom powered by solar heating. Rooms are protected with mosquito gauze on the windows.
Guests rarely meet any other vehicles on game drives around Ruaha's extensive and well-maintained tracks. Game drives are taken in specially adapted open 4x4 vehicles. The seating is tiered to maximise visibility for each passenger.
