Comfortable Selous Camp With Riverside Setting
Selous Riverside Tented Camp is located on the northern bank of the Rufiji River, just 6 km from the Mtemere Gate on the eastern side of the vast Selous Game Reserve. For safari-seekers in search of a very comfortable and well-appointed tented camp at a sensible price, Selous Riverside Camp deserves careful consideration.
Accommodation at the camp is in 10 elevated and well-ventilated tents with either twin or double beds, each 1 metre above the ground, 5 with wooden floors and 5 with stone floors. All tents are en-suite with hot water showers, 2 washbasins and flush toilet. The tented bedrooms offer a generous 35 sq. metres of space and are furnished with a cupboard, dresser, sofa or two chairs, a stool, a stand fan and a writing table. All the beds have mosquito nets and the windows and doors are all mosquito proof. Each tent has a veranda with chairs and a first-class view of the Rufiji River.
The public areas of the camp include a reception/dining area with Zanzibar-style beds for seating and a large split level decked area with a small pool, naturally overlooking the Rufiji River. Dinner is served on the deck, under the stars or in the covered dining area. Like all other camps in the Selous, activities from the camp include game viewing in open 4x4 safari vehicles, boat safaris on the Rufiji River and walking safaris conducted by experienced guides.
