Positioned atop a small cliff overlooking the beach and bay of Kilwa Masoko, Kilwa Seaview Resort is the place to be for sundowners and night-time views of the bay. The seafood isn’t bad either! Rooms at Kilwa Seaview Resort are in en-suite African-style stone bandas with thatched makuti roofs, and equipped with fans, mosquito nets and verandas, each with a view of the Indian Ocean. Each room has 3 to 4 beds and is simply furnished, clean and perfectly functional. Some rooms have TV’s though you’ll not find a need for these. The lodge features a simple swimming pool, and a bar/restaurant built around an 800-year old baobab tree under a thatched roof with views out to the island of Kilwa Kisiwani. Activities available include visits to the historical sites of Kilwa, snorkelling, diving, dhow sailing, bird-watching, beachcombing, a trip to nearby caves or simply relaxing by the pool. |
