Once the home of a wealthy merchant the Dhow Palace has stood for over 140 years and is now an elegant hotel.
Ideally located in the heart of Zanzibar’s Stone Town, the Dhow Palace is just a short walk from shops, restaurants and the town’s historical attractions. Adorned with reminders of Zanzibar’s colourful past, the Dhow Palace is furnished with typical Swahili beds, Arabian, Indian, Oriental and European carved wood furniture. The twenty eight en-suite guest bedrooms are equipped with air-conditioning, TV, fridge, telephone and hair dryer. Most rooms have balconies which either face the back courtyard or overlook the swimming pool.
