Karamba Resort
Comfortable Beachside Lodge in Kizimkazi
Located next to the palm-fringed white-sand beach at Kizimkazi Dimbani in the far southwest of Zanzibar, Karamba is just a 1 hour drive (55 km) from Zanzibar’s airport. The main departure point for early morning boat trips which set out to spot dolphins, Kizimkazi is a small fishermen’s village with an ancient Shirazi mosque. Clean and comfortable, Karamba exudes a warm and friendly atmosphere in a peaceful village setting.
Karamba’s fourteen bungalow rooms offer style and comfort. All are en-suite and equipped with hot water, wardrobes, double/twin beds with mosquito nets, ceiling fans, kettles and spacious verandas – each facing the Indian Ocean. Several of the rooms have open-sky roof showers designed for bathing under moonlight. Two of the rooms are family rooms, taking up to 3 or 4 people.
A seafront restaurant offers local and international cuisine with an emphasis on Mediterranean dishes and fish. Relaxation is one of the main objectives of any stay at Karamba - a small infinity swimming pool offers a refreshing change from the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, or enjoy a massage or join one of the yoga classes. Wi-Fi internet is available in the main recreation area, along with a small library, a communal TV and a selection of games.
