Location

Located just 55 minutes from the airport and the capital Stone Town, The Residence Zanzibar lies on a mile-long powdery white sand beach, flanked by coconut palm trees and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. The village of Kizimkazi, famous for its dolphin Safaris, is just 20 minutes away.

Choice of Dining

The residence has a choice of two restaurants and bars, meal plan is half-board. Dress Code: smart/ casual. No shorts at dinner. Smart jeans are acceptable.

The Dining Room has a traditional Arab/African feel. This central restaurant offers international dishes with a hint of Zanzibar “spice”. Relaxed and casual in atmosphere, yet sophisticated in style, The Dining Room provides the perfect setting to enjoy breakfast, lunch or a star-lit dinner, cooled down by a tropical breeze.ey awaits guests.

The Pavilion Restaurant is open for dinner. Re-creating the style and elegance of an Omani Palace, The Pavilion is decorated with large oriental glassware; handmade stone jugs and hammered steel plates. The evening begins at sunset with some soft, traditional music while enjoying light mezze and spiced olives with the aperitif. Dinner is filled with the warmth and colours of Zanzibar and brings to life the very best of Middle-Eastern, Greek, Turkish and Mediterranean food. 

The Residence Private Villas

Every one of the 66 stand-alone villas has its very own private swimming pool in which to bask in the sun and hide from the other guests. A real luxury for those seeking serenity and seclusion. 

Villas have satellite TV, CD/DVD player in the living room, mini bar, direct dial telephone, hairdryer, mosquito nets, personal safe, tea and coffee making facilities, broadband internet access, air-conditioning and overhead fans in the living room and bedrooms.

On the deck outside, overlooking a private swimming pool (30 – 35 m2 and 1.2m deep) are wicker chairs and day beds. Bicycles are provided with each villa to explore the gardens and local area.

Set in the lush gardens surrounded by tall coconut palm trees, these beautifully appointed villas feature a large living room leading onto a private deck with table and chairs, one day-bed, a couple of sun loungers with parasol and a private pool. The bedroom has a central, canopied king-size bed, with French doors leading onto the deck and pool, with views over the gardens. The spacious bathroom features separate toilet, double basins, stand-alone bath and separate shower cabin. It leads onto a small secluded private garden with an outdoor shower.

Set directly on the ocean’s edge, these wonderful one-bedroom villas offer breathtaking views of the ocean from every room. The living room and bedroom both have French doors leading onto the deck and pool area, but perhaps some of the best views are appreciated from the freestanding bath, which offers an uninterrupted seascape panorama. The spacious bathroom features separate toilet, double bassins and a shower cabin. It leads onto a small secluded private garden with an outdoor shower.

Set in the gardens, these two-bedroom villas offer space for a family or two couples travelling together. For the ultimate villa experience, the PresidentialVilla offers magnificent accommodation, overlooking the beach and ocean, while enjoying wonderful views of the magical Zanzibari sunset.The oversized living room features a spacious dining room in addition to the lounge area, and leads onto a vast deck, complete with day-beds, parasols and the focal point, a 35m2 swimming pool. Both the large master suite and smaller junior suite feature en-suite bathroom, with stunning views of the azure waters of Zanzibar and an outdoor shower in a private garden.
