The Arusha Hotel
The Arusha Hotel was originally built in 1894 and was used by travellers traversing the continent from the Cape and Cairo. The hotel is a real focal point in the town providing elegant, refined accommodation that cleverly balances all that is modern and classic. High quality rooms, services and cuisine all come in surroundings that reflect its history, sophistication and charm. Outside the original lush and extensive tropical gardens give the hotel a calm relaxing feel – an oasis in the center of Arusha town. After an extensive renovation and refurbishment program, The Arusha Hotel (formerly The New Arusha Hotel) is now the only five star hotel in Arusha town.
Views from the rooms are either of the majestic and impressive Mount Meru, the swaying trees of the sweeping gardens or the inviting turquoise pool. 86 elegantly appointed rooms include 4 suites, 25 executive rooms and 57 standard rooms, all of which are designed to ensure complete comfort and privacy whilst still providing the facilities required by today’s traveler.
The Arusha Hotel offers a choice of eating and dining experiences: Overlooking the gardens, the Parachichi Restaurant is the perfect place for breakfast, lunch or dinner and with the sublime climate, the outdoor terrace offers a tranquil setting. An extensive a la carte menu and wine list is available in the evenings, boasting both European and Asian cuisine. The Hatari Tavern ia a relaxing and chilled bar perfect for cocktails at sundown, coffee over lunch or after dinner cognacs with an all day menu offering light snacks and small meals.
The lounge at the Arusha Hotel is ‘the most well-known meeting place in Arusha’. With high back chairs and leather sofas the lounge is frequented by residents of Arusha, as well as visitors enjoying coffee and chat throughout the day and evening.
Trees offer shade by the outdoor swimming pool, children's pool and jacuzzi where you can cool and relax amidst the splendid African gardens. An air-conditioned fully equipped high tech gym offers something for the more energetic visitor.
