The family run Ilboru Safari Lodge lies at the base of the majestic Mt. Meru, amongst banana fields and Maasai tribes, in a perfect tranquil setting, yet only 2km from Arusha. Surrounded by 5 acres of lush tropical grounds, unwind while watching the variety of birds from your balcony, or wander in the gardens. Under the shade of the surrounding exotic trees is the grand-sized pool with relaxing lounge chairs.
Each private bungalow is reminiscent of a traditional Swahili ‘boma’, uniquely designed wtih a round layout and thatched rooftops while still providing the western conveniences you would expect from a great lodge. Within, the Maasai fabrics and draped nets add an ethnical charm, making you feel at home in the African culture. A choice of 30 rooms are either twin, queen sized bed, triple or family, each has a private veranda overlooking beautiful lawns and flowers. Wireless internet is available in all rooms together with a free internet cafe.
The lodge restaurant serves international globally inspired dishes, from India to the Netherlands and back to Africa, served with genuine African hospitality and great service in a relaxing atmosphere, which combines ambient music with a comfortable setting. Special menu selections are available for the children in addition to a fully stocked bar for the adults.
