The Tides Beach Lodge

The Tides Lodge is located on a magnificent beach on the Swahili coastline and has been voted "One of the World's best beaches" by The Sunday Times Travel Magazine. 

This African oasis combines the experience of the bush with rustic luxury accommodation. The surroundings are heavenly with beach bungalows situated in a tropical setting surrounded by palms. 
Cottages have bright, spacious and stylish interiors with modern en suite bathrooms. Fresh tropical flowers are placed in rooms daily. All rooms feature kingsized beds with mosquito nets, fans, bathrobes, solar-powered hot water, fresh drinking water, private verandas and sunbathing areas. 

Enjoy excellent cuisine and fabulous views of the Indian ocean from the beachfront restaurant and Bar. Freshly caught seafood is one of the main specialities.  In the evening order a cocktail at sunset,  relax and watch the ocean shimmer as the light fades.

Fish the waters of the Zanzibar Channel from the fully equipped fishing boat, experience the excitement of hooking a big game fish including Marlin and Sailfish or fish off the numerous reefs that line the coast just offshore.  The Tides operate a 'Catch and Release' policy for the large game fish. Otherwise our kitchen will use anything ‘landed’.

Sea Kayaking, fun kayaks, boogie boards, cycling and snorkelling can all be enjoyed from the lodge, or take a Dhow sailing and enjoy sundowners as you cruise the channel.
 
There are two dive operations on the beach near the lodge who offer exceptional diving on the Maziwe Island Marine Reserve.
