Migunga Forest Camp
Semi-luxury Tented Camp at Lake Manyara
Located only 5 km from the town of Mto wa Mbu and 5 minutes from the entrance gate of Lake Manyara National Park, Migunga Tented Camp is nestled within 35 acres of acacia forest. It is perfectly positioned for use as a base for game viewing in the park, and for cultural activities or mountain biking around the Mto Wa Mbu area.
Migunga consists of 19 semi-luxury permanent ‘meru’ tents on raised platforms with attached bathrooms and private veranda. A wood and thatch main building houses the restaurant, bar and reading area. All the tents are discreetly placed around a central glade, offering shade and privacy but still only a short walk to the restaurant and bar.
Facilities in the comfortable tents include a bathroom with flush toilet, shower, wash hand basin, towels, soap and bottled water; mosquito nets and electric lights in the tent and bathroom. Batteries for cameras and videos can be re-charged. Room service is available.
Evenings at Migunga resonate with the typical sounds of forest creatures. As well as a nightly campfire, nightfall also brings a fairytale-style set-up, with traditional hurricane lamps in the grounds and along paths leading to the tents. Mornings bring sun beaming through the Migunga trees whilst cheeky vervet monkeys play.

Optional Activities at Migunga Forest Camp
In the early evening a night game drive offers a chance to see nocturnal creatures not normally seen during the day such as porcupines, bush babies, bush buck, hippos, mongoose, civets and a number of nocturnal birds. Mountain biking and guided village walks or forest walks are also available.
