Fumba Beach Lodge
Colourful Zanzibari Style Beach Retreat Nestled in the southwest of Zanzibar, idyllic Fumba Beach Lodge is located only 30 minutes drive from Stone Town, but is a world away. Scattered along the beach and with private views of the Indian Ocean, each of the 26 en-suite white-washed bungalows have their own verandas and are constructed in typical Zanzibari style.
All guest rooms are equipped with fans and mosquito nets above the beds. Four suites have a roof-top terrace and the two Baobab suites have open-air bathrooms. Fresh seafood is served daily in the open-air restaurant, with a tasty array of international and local dishes. For day time excitement guests can choose scuba diving, snorkelling, a sunset cruise or perhaps just relax at the swimming pool or on the beach under the branches of the baobab trees.
Around the lodge, three naturally formed coves protect the beaches and provide seclusion, peace and quiet. As well as a beach bar and dive centre, Fumba has windsurfers and kayaks available for rental. A spa offers massage, feet, hand and beauty treatments, a Jacuzzi and henna painting. Snorkelling excursions run to Komonda Island or Pungume Sandbank. Honeymoon couples are welcome, and Fumba is family-friendly.
