Attractive Town in the North of Pemba

Wete is the most attractive of the three large towns on Pemba, with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.  Houses and small shops are set either side of a main road, leading down to the dhow harbour.  The Town has a bank, post office, police station, travel agencies, and the Novelty Cinema - but don't expect any recent releases.  There is a small pleasant market, and dala dala station about halfway down the hill on the right hand side.  Wete provides a good base to explore the nearby Ngezi Forest, stunning beaches and ruins.
